- A postdoctoral position on the interactions among clouds, radiation,
and climate is available with the Department of Earth and Planetary
Science at the University of California, Berkeley. This NSF-funded
position focuses on the implications of cloud-scale radiative
processes for climate change and climate variability. The postdoc
will collaborate with other members of the
NSF Science and Technology
Center for Multiscale Modeling of Atmospheric Processes (CMMAP). A
Ph.D. in atmospheric sciences, physics, applied mathematics or a
related discipline is required. Experience in numerical modeling and
in complex data analysis is essential. Experience with radiative
transfer codes, climate modeling, or atmospheric simulation is highly
desirable. Background information about the research group is
available on request.
Please send an email describing your research interests, a CV and
three journal paper reprints in PDF, and a list of three references
to Prof. William Collins
(WDCollins@berkeley.edu). The initial
appointment will be for one year starting at your earliest
